Dog Able to Walk with Prostethics

When rescue workers came to a home on an animal rescue mission, they were shocked by what they discovered there.

In the basement was a puppy and its mother, both of whom had been abandoned in the freezing cellar. While the mother had finally succumbed to the cold, the little puppy was barely alive. According to veterinary assistant Christie Pace, "He was the only one that was frozen into a puddle." As a result, Naki'o, the dog, lost the tip of his tail and two rear paws.

Although Pace wanted to adopt the puppy, she didn't know how that would be possible until she returned to work one day. It was there that she got the idea to have prosthetics made for Naki'o's lost limbs. Ortho Pets heard about the story and offered to donate the prosthetic limbs for free.

Now, after losing his paws due to frostbite, Naki'o is able to walk again and is referred to as the "Bionic Dog".  This just shows you that veterinary medicine has come a long way.
