Using Puppy Pads during Housebreaking

If you have added a new puppy to your family, house training is something that you will have to take seriously over the course of the next couple months. Keep in mind that with the correct tools in place and a lot of patience, you can effectively housebreak your puppy.

One thing that you should remember is that puppies have to empty their bladders more frequently than adult dogs.  If you are not at home to take your puppy outside, then you may want to consider investing in puppy pads.

While your puppy is small, you only need to use the puppy pad for a short duration. The key is designating a specific area for your pet to eliminate on the pad so that it learns and repeats the behavior.  Over time, your puppy will learn to relieve itself on the pads instead of on your carpeting or floor.

Puppy pads can be cost effective as they are phased out as your pet matures.  Most cost between $15 and $40 a pack and are disposable.
