Fixing Common Litter Box Issues

If you have a cat and are struggling with litter box problems, know that you are not alone as many pet owners face difficulties when it comes to litter box management.  However, many owners do not know the common problems may be causing the litter box issues, such as the problems listed below:

Not cleaning the litter box often or sufficiently.  This can cause a cat or a kitten to eliminate outside of the desired location.

Not providing multiple litter boxes.  It is always a good idea to have a few litter boxes in your home and taking this step can reduce accidents.

Not having a large enough litter box.  Make sure that the litter box you have is appropriate for the size of your cat or he/she may eliminate outside of it.

Using litter boxes with hoods on top.  Your cat may not be comfortable in this type of litter box so try one that does not have a hood or top.
